I have witnessed many entrepreneurs give up because their business isn’t profiting the way they expected or the way that they hoped. Not everyone has investors, sponsors, and donors lined up ready to put money into a new business. Sometimes entrepreneurs go into it hoping to attract those opportunities in order to receive money to get their company off of the ground. News flash-- it doesn’t always go that way. Sometimes people put their all into their new business, money that do not have, just for it to not go the way that they hoped.
Are you that person? Have you launched a company that hasn’t received the profit that you’ve hoped for? Well if that is you, I want to tell you that if you have not given up, you’re on the right track. No really, you are. Redirection is actually the right direction. Do you know how many successful people had to go through hard and rough times? Moments when the idea of profit was just an idea? I will list a few:
Oprah Winfrey
Walt Disney
Steven Spielberg
J. K. Rowling
If you are failing and your company isn’t making money it can mean many things, but it doesn’t mean give up. If your business is not profiting, that gives you the opportunity to learn how to be a great entrepreneur. Figure out what has worked and what hasn’t worked. Learn who your audience is and who your audience is not. Learn your work schedule and work habits. Learn how to build genuine relationships and attract those opportunities.
Most successful business leaders have failed or have gone through seasons where their company hasn't done as well as they had hoped. If you are in that season, do not give up. If you give up, then yes, consider yourself a “failure.” Not to be harsh, but you only fail when you stop. No one will love your business the way you do unless you show them why they should. Build your brand, make people fall in love with you, share your story and connect it with your business! Whatever you do, do not stop, you are right where you need to be.
